It’s always best to book at least 24 hours in advance, but in a pinch we can get you on the road with a couple of hours notice (subject to availability) if you give us a call. Web bookings require 24 hours notice.

The process is basically the same as the web-booking process, except we’ll prompt you to answer questions and key the information you tell us into our booking system. If we email you a quote, it will contain a conversion link you can use or simply call us back to finalise things over the phone. A rental agreement will be emailed to confirm your reservation.
Our minimum rent period is 1 day. There is no maximum rental period. If you are interested in a long-term rental we recommend you contact us to negotiate the best outcome.
In the unfortunate event that something malfunctions you should stop driving and contact us immediately. We’ll arrange for the problem to be remedied as soon as possible (subject to T&Cs). Sometimes during long-term rental agreements, a vehicle may have to be recalled for service or inspection. In these situations we would arrange to swap the vehicle out.
Our rental rates are day-rates, where any part of any day counts as a whole day.
Our quotes and rental agreements list each item that make up the total cost of your reservation. They include, but are not limited to:
We always state the bond value on all quotes and rental agreements for complete transparency.
Provided all of the return conditions have been satisfied your bond will be released by us within 24 hours of return. Please be aware that we do not have control over your banks processing time in relation to the release of merchant pre-authorisations. (In some instances, this can take your bank up to 7-21 days).
Where you incur additional costs, these will be withheld from your bond and processed as credit card payments. For example, if you didn’t return the truck with a full tank of fuel you will be charged re-fuel costs (see T&Cs for more information).
When you arrive at your designated pick-up time check-in at reception.
We will take a copy of your valid driver’s license (and that of any other authorised driver).
If any part of your rental agreement has not been paid-up, you will need to make payment by credit card, eftpos or cash.
You will need to sign your rental agreement (if you haven’t already).
Our booking staff will direct you to the vehicle and answer any questions you might have.
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE VEHICLE CONDITION before your leave the yard. If you would like any additional items noted on the vehicle condition section, please bring it to Yello Booking Staff’s attention. (You are welcome to take photos for your own record).

Because our day rates run midnight to midnight, we offer self-serve after hours returns at our rental locations. This is where we provide you a gate key so you can safely return the vehicle to our yard and deposit the keys into a secure lockbox. (Never leave the keys in the car!).
Ensure you return the vehicle addressing all the requirements of T&Cs. The main items to address include (but not limited to) Full tank of Fuel; Tidy vehicle to the same cleanliness you collected it; make sure returnable accessories are in the vehicle.
When you have parked up the vehicle in a designated return bay, pop into reception to let us know and return the keys. You are welcome to wait while we conduct a return inspection, or you may opt to leave it with us. Again, you are welcome to take photos for your own record.
If you have returned your vehicle after hours the return inspection will take place on the morning of the next operating day of the location.
Provided all of the return conditions have been satisfied your bond will be released without delay.
Where return conditions have not been met, we will withhold the value of those charges from your bond. Any unused bond will be released and a revised statement of charges will be emailed to you.
If the costs exceed the bond we will withhold all of the bond and debit your credit card for the additional amount and email a revised statement of charges for your record.
A standard Australian C class driver’s license (or equivalent) is all you need.
Animals are not permitted in Yello vehicles.
You can apply for our written authorisation to transport a domestic pet if extenuating circumstances exist. If you do transport animals without our prior written approval, you will be deemed to have used the vehicle for a prohibited use. (T&Cs explain the implications of using the vehicle for a prohibited use).
In short yes. The mandatory insurance cover is automatically included on your quote.
